Corporate Tax Avoidance
The business community keeps reminding us, how much corporate tax payments contribute to the common good. In fact, transnational corporations are free to manipulate their internal prices and revenue streams in such a way, that their profits are miraculously realized wherever taxes are the lowest. Profits are further reduced through fictitious transactions (e.g. payments for insurance or consulting services) with subsidiaries in tax havens. In other words, tax avoidance is a lucrative business in its own right today.
