The fact sheet gives a good overview about paraquat and suicide. Pan Germany conclude, that that the highly toxic pesticide paraquat must be seen as a major suicide agent in many developing countries. Its misuse for deliberate self-poisoning results in a high mortality rate and causes thousands of deaths every year. PAN Germany sees the only option being a complete paraquat-ban and production-stop.
