Every day, thousands of people die of illnesses that could easily be treated or prevented. With its campaign «Health®: a universal human right, in poor countries as well» the Bern Declaration demands better access to life-saving medications for everyone.

In order to lower the price of drugs The Berne Declaration asks large Swiss pharmaceutical companies to change their patent policies. The patenting policies of the WTO TRIPS agreement also need to be changed.
